Compare programmes with similar purposes, then inspect their stages and requirements. Similar content does not mean the tests have the same difficulty or that one qualification transfers to another country.

Follow source links to check the original context. Where saved documents are available, you can read them here. Documents keep their dates; translations may be working translations rather than official wording.

Skate Canada Virtual Assessments – Section Reference Guide August 2024 Copyright © 2024 Skate Canada 9 The Execution of a Virtual Assessment Day The following will review each step as it relates to the preparation, delivery and conclusion of a virtual assessment day. Preparation Technology Virtual assessments are dependant on the technology used. The information below outlines considerations that must be taken by sections as they develop their processes and the delivery of virtual assessments. Online Meeting Platform An online meeting platform will be necessary for virtual assessments. The platform will support the virtual experience by allowing the evaluator to see and assess the skaters as well as communicate with the skater/coach and other participants involved. Platforms that have been used thus far include Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. Applications such as Whats App and Messenger have also been used in conjunction with these platforms as support mechanisms. Considerations for choosing the platform: - Accessibility - Familiarity - Ability to have clear video of moving objects. - Audio feed from music inside the rink can be adequately heard through the meeting platform. Sections may designate the online meeting platform of choice or allow the clubs/skating schools to use a platform that is familiar to them. Sections may connect with Skate Canada for support at anytime. Note: The chosen platform must be the same used for technology checks and virtual assessment days. Devices Devices for filming of skater(s) during the assessments include: - Cell phones - Tablets - Laptops - Camera/GoPro - External Speakers Clubs and skating schools are required to have multiple devices available for their technology check and virtual assessment day to support video and audio needs. Note: A tripod with the ability to rotate that is compatible with the chosen devices is highly recommended.
