How to use this

Start with a country, a beginner programme or an element. Open a level to read its collected requirements. Expand programme stages to see the exercises inside.

Try double Axel or three turn in the search box. Results show available definitions and matching evidence; not every question can be answered from the collection.

Compare programmes with similar purposes, then inspect their stages and requirements. Similar content does not mean the tests have the same difficulty or that one qualification transfers to another country.

Follow source links to check the original context. Where saved documents are available, you can read them here. Documents keep their dates; translations may be working translations rather than official wording.

This is a growing collection, not every requirement from every country. Missing results can mean missing or untranslated evidence, not that a skill is absent from a country’s programme. Read the coverage notes before drawing conclusions.

Coverage, updates and corrections

This is a growing reference, not a complete collection of every test. Material may be partial, historical or a working translation. No match does not mean a country does not teach an element.

Reference presentation updated . This is not a claim that every source was checked on that date. Individual documents retain their own dates and limitations.

Skills Assessment Resource Guide August 2024 Copyright © 2024 Skate Canada 31 Element/Exercise CONTENT STAR 6 Forward Counters & Backward Counters Definition: A turn executed on one foot from an outside edge to an outside edge or an inside edge to an inside edge, with the exit curve on a different lobe than the entry curve. The turn is performed in the opposite direction of the entry curve. The counter turn always enters like a bracket and exits like a three-turn. Performance Example – Forward Counters: Starting from a standstill, a glide, or a set number of prescribed steps, the skater may choose foot and starting edge. The skater will perform all four forward counters (RFO, RFI, LFO, LFI), entering the turn by rotating the upper body away from the centre of the entry circle, performing the turn and exiting on the same edge, in the opposite direction, on an opposing lobe. Keeping the free leg close to the skating leg in figure form, the skater must demonstrate a minimum two second glide entering and exiting each turn. The skater may perform the turns in any order demonstrating unweighting during each turn. Performance Example – Backward Counters: Starting from a standstill, a glide, or a set number of prescribed steps, the skater may choose foot and starting edge. The skater will perform all four backward counters (RBO, RBI, LBO, LBI), entering the turn by rotating the upper body towards the centre of the entry circle, performing the turn and exiting on the same edge, in the opposite direction, on an opposing lobe. Keeping the free leg close to the skating leg in figure form, the skater must demonstrate a minimum two second glide entering and exiting each turn. The skater may perform the turns in any order demonstrating unweighting during each turn. Mandatory Requirements: Three of four counters (for each direction): - meet the definition of the turn - demonstrate a two second entry and exit edge
