How to use this

Start with a country, a beginner programme or an element. Open a level to read its collected requirements. Expand programme stages to see the exercises inside.

Try double Axel or three turn in the search box. Results show available definitions and matching evidence; not every question can be answered from the collection.

Compare programmes with similar purposes, then inspect their stages and requirements. Similar content does not mean the tests have the same difficulty or that one qualification transfers to another country.

Follow source links to check the original context. Where saved documents are available, you can read them here. Documents keep their dates; translations may be working translations rather than official wording.

This is a growing collection, not every requirement from every country. Missing results can mean missing or untranslated evidence, not that a skill is absent from a country’s programme. Read the coverage notes before drawing conclusions.

Coverage, updates and corrections

This is a growing reference, not a complete collection of every test. Material may be partial, historical or a working translation. No match does not mean a country does not teach an element.

Reference presentation updated . This is not a claim that every source was checked on that date. Individual documents retain their own dates and limitations.

Dance Assessment Resource Guide February 2026 Copyright © 2026 Skate Canada 21 STAR 3 STAR 3A – Baby Blues Music Tempo Pattern Inventor Blues 4/4 • 22 measures of 4 beats • 88 beats per minute Set Unknown First Performed Unknown Description The dance starts in one corner of the rink facing the centre of the ice, progressing down the side across the end and around the corner where it repeats, thus requiring two sequences of the dance for one round of the rink. The dance consists mainly of two beat progressive sequences skated in Kilian hold. Step 7 (RFOI) and Step 14 (LFO- SwR) are the only 4 beat edges. The free leg swing forward and back on Step 7 is executed as follows: forward on count 2 and back on count 3. The simple steps allow beginners to get the feel of the music and enjoy rhythmical motion in their skating. Because of the use of slow Blues music, this dance promotes the use of long edges. Upright position, good carriage and easy flow without too much effort are desired in the dance. The partners should strive for unison of the free leg swings (Step 7 in particular) and soft knee action throughout the dance. The dance is skating in Kilian hold. Suggested Introductory Steps Skater B (Lead): LFO (2), RFO (2), LFO-SwR (4) Skater A (Follow): LFO (2), RFO (2), LFO-SwR (4) Focus Areas Focus Area 1 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): Steps 1-3 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): RFO, LFI-Pr, RFI. Skaters are expected to perform proper progressive technique with blades pushes and good free leg extension on steps 1 & 2. Step 3 should demonstrate a solid inside edge with lean change and externally rotated free foot. Focus Area 2 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): Step 7 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): RFOI-Sw. On this step the free leg will start behind for 1 beat and move in front for 1 beat while on the outside edge, executing a swing roll action. The free leg will then swing back to execute a change of edge. The FI edge will be held for 2 beats with the free leg externally rotated and skating knee bent. Focus Area 3 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): Steps 11-13 Skater B & Skater A (Lead & Follow): RFO, CR-LFO, RFI-Pr. Skaters are expected to demonstrate a definite outside to outside lobe change on steps 11 & 12 with proper blade push and cross roll technique. Step 13 should demonstrate proper progressive technique with free leg extending under and back.
