This is a growing collection, not every requirement from every country. Missing results can mean missing or untranslated evidence, not that a skill is absent from a country’s programme. Read the coverage notes before drawing conclusions.

JUDGES MANAGEMENT SUBCOMMITTEE GUIDELINES DANCE TEST JUDGES Effective Jan. 1, 2024 V2 10/4/24 Pre-Silver Dance Test Judge Appointment – Minimum Requirements Present Grade Prospective dance test judge • Must be registered with headquarters as a prospective judge or hold another appointment to have access to eLearning courses. Judges School Required within the two years preceding the date of the application. May be virtual or in-person, hosted by U.S. Figure Skating or a club/interclub. eLearning Required courses: • Compliance for Officials • Professionalism for Officials • Introduction to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion* • How to be a Trial Judge for Tests • How to Judge Skating Skills, Pattern Dance and Free Dance Tests • Turn Identification • Skating skills courses for pre-preliminary and preliminary (one course), pre-bronze, bronze and pre-silver* • Pattern dance courses for preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze and pre￾silver* Each eLearning course may count toward more than one appointment, if applicable. Courses that include an assessment require a minimum score of 80 percent to count. *Some courses are still being written and produced. Applicants are only required to complete courses that are available prior to their application. Trial Judging Activity Advanced Candidates The required trial judging activity can be in person or virtual, but at least one in-person trial judging session is required. • Minimum 10 skating skills tests with at least one each from pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre￾bronze, bronze and pre-silver • Minimum two pattern dance tests from each level (pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze and pre-silver) • Minimum one bronze and one pre-silver free dance test Accelerated Candidates The required trial judging activity can be in person or virtual, but at least two in-person trial judging sessions are required. • Minimum 15 skating skills tests with at least one each from pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre￾bronze, bronze and pre-silver • Minimum three pattern dance tests from each level (pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze and pre-silver) • Minimum one bronze and one pre-silver free dance test Standard Candidates The required trial judging activity can be in person or virtual, but at least two in-person trial judging sessions are required. • Minimum 20 skating skills tests with at least one each from pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre￾bronze, bronze and pre-silver • Minimum four pattern dance tests from each level (pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze and pre-silver) • Minimum one bronze and one pre-silver free dance test Trial Judging Papers The majority of pattern dance and free dance tests must be partnered. Applicants are encouraged to trial judge adult tests when the opportunities arise, but adult tests will not count toward the required trial judging. Papers submitted for appointment must be originals. Papers may be scanned and emailed or completed electronically. Papers must include comments, which must be legible. Trial Judging Accuracy 75 percent agreement with unanimously judged skating skills, pattern dance and free dance tests 70 percent agreement with outcome for skating skills, pattern dance and free dance tests 75 percent agreement with any judge for skating skills, pattern dance and free dance tests Promotional Exam Must score at least 80 percent (this requirement cannot be modified) Exam will be emailed by headquarters after application is submitted • Successful completion of a promotional school conducted by the Judges Training Subcommittee may be substituted for trial judging experience. • Trial papers and eLearning courses must be dated within the two years preceding the date of the application for promotion. • Marks and comments must relate to each other, accurately identify elements and demonstrate knowledge of standards. • Test Activity Report from the U.S. Figure Skating Members Only site should be submitted with the application. • Applicants cannot have any open professional standards or ethics complaints or violations. • Guidelines may be modified by the applicable sectional vice chair or the national vice chair of the Judges Management Subcommittee.
