Compare programmes with similar purposes, then inspect their stages and requirements. Similar content does not mean the tests have the same difficulty or that one qualification transfers to another country.

This is a growing collection, not every requirement from every country. Missing results can mean missing or untranslated evidence, not that a skill is absent from a country’s programme. Read the coverage notes before drawing conclusions.

Dance Assessment Resource Guide February 2026 Copyright © 2026 Skate Canada 114 Diamond A – Ravensburger Waltz Focus Areas Focus Area 1 Skater B (Lead) & Skater A (Follow): Steps 14 – 18 Skater B (Lead): LFI OpCSt, RBI, LBO, RFO, XB-LFIO Skater A (Follow): LFI OpCSt, RBI, LBO, RFO, XB-LFIO Skater B (Lead) & Skater A (Follow): Correct steps, turns, foot placement and timing. Feet should be neat and tidy during step transitions and free legs should be stretched. The skater should use soft, lilting knees throughout to keep waltz rhythm evident. Focus Area 2 Skater B (Lead) & Skater A (Follow): Steps 36 – 38 Skater B (Lead): LFO, RFO, LFO, RFO Skater A (Follow): LFO-SwRk, RFI ClSSt, LBO Skater B (Lead): Correct steps, foot placement and timing. The skater must correctly bring the free foot to the skating foot before striking the ice. Transition from one foot to the other must be controlled through the knees and strength in the core. Focus will be on controlled lobe transitions and timing. Skater A (Follow): Correct steps, turns, foot placement and timing. The skater must perform a correct swing rocker with controlled and coordinated swing of the free leg while turning a clean rocker. The skater must have proper foot placement on the closed S step with the instep of the free leg being brought to the heel of the skating foot prior to transferring weight to complete the closed S step. The S step must not be jumped or scraped. Assessment Requirements Mandatory Requirements: (4 of 4 successful) - Correct timing throughout dance, with one timing error permitted (no more than 11 steps off time in a pattern/sequence) - All Focus Areas must be successful Full Pattern Assessment Requirements: - All Full Pattern Assessment Criteria must be Silver or better
